There was a horrible terrorist attack in Jerusalem at a bus stop on Thursday morning.
According to the police, two terrorists attacked at the Givat Shaul junction near the entrance to Jerusalem. They had an M-16 and a handgun.
Israel’s
Channel 12 posted video from the bus stop that showed two men jumping
out of a white car and rushing at the crowd at the bus stop while
shooting as everyone ran to get away.
The terrorists were then shot and taken out, according to the police, by off-duty soldiers and a civilian.
Killed in the attack were a 24-year-old woman, a 73-year-old man, and a woman in her 60s, while five others were wounded.
The terrorists shot were identified as two men connected to Hamas who had previously been imprisoned for terrorist activity.
National
Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir arrived at the scene shortly after
the attack, saying “This event proves once again how much we must not
show weakness, how much we should talk to Hamas only through the gun
sight, only through war. My stance about the ceasefire is known, Hamas
must not be allowed to speak to us with two voices.”
Ben-Gvir added
that the attack displayed how important it is to distribute weapons to
civilians. “Weapons save lives, we see it time after time, wherever
there are weapons, citizens, policemen, soldiers, save lives. And this
weapon can save us and it proves itself time and time again.”
U.S. Ambassador Jack Lew condemned the attack.
This occurred despite Israel and Hamas agreeing to one more day of ceasefire to help get more hostages out.
This doesn’t look like a ceasefire on the part of the terrorists.
